Oasis Marina –  August 2009 update 

August is one of the hottest months of the year and it was the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan.  As the workers cannot drink or eat during the daylight hours, it is normal during Ramadan, particularly when the Holy Month falls in the hot summer months, for shorter working hours and many workers choose to go on holiday.  For the workers who remain, they prefer working at night.   Naturally some work must still take place during the day (pictures 1 & 2), but this is kept to a minimum.  The affect of the Ramadan mean that work was slow in August and will be slow until the end of Ramadan in late September. Picture 3 shows the pool level columns in place for apartment block F, while picture 4 shows the foundation preparations for apartment block C. Picture 5, shows the completed foundations of Villa Blocks A & B.  Picture 6 shows 2 villa apartment blocks.  Brickwork is due to start in September to separate and complete the top villa apartments.
